Job Description: At MSK, we offer an exciting opportunity to join us for 9 weeks in our Healthcare Administration Summer Support Program.
Working as either an Office Coordinator or Care Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on our patients every day.
Are you seeking a summer internship opportunity where you can make a difference each day and begin your career in healthcare administration? Are you ready to join a team where everyone plays a meaningful role in the fight against cancer? We want you to join us! Our Healthcare Administration Internship consists of two roles, Care Coordinators and Office Coordinators.
In these roles, you will: Put our patients first, using strong customer service skills to ensure patients, family, and caregivers are given the care and assistance they need Collaborate as a member of our “OneMSK” team, working closely with physicians, clinical staff, hospital administrators, and other strategic partners Act as a resource to patients and a liaison between the patient and the clinical team Finish the program with real-life work experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment As a Care Coordinator, you will: Work inside our outpatient facilities, assisting patients with checking in and out for their visits and managing clinic flows, and performing administrative and operational tasks Act as a part of a practice staff team of Care Coordinators to ensure that each physician practice session is well prepared and well organized and that each patient visit occurs with satisfaction As an Office Coordinator, you will: Be assigned to a particular physician's practice across all services (medicine, surgery, radiation oncology, psychiatry, etc.
), providing administrative support to our clinicians to ensure they can focus on their patient's needs Serve as the main point of contact for patients when they are outside of the clinic to discuss tests, appointments, and procedures You Are: Working towards your Bachelor’s degree Passionate about a career in healthcare and/or hospital administration Able to work 5 full days a week between 6/10/2024-8/16/2024, onsite at an MSK campus.
Hours will vary between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm (Monday-Friday, occasional Saturdays and Sundays).
Flexibility between shifts is expected Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 You have: Attention to detail and strong computer skills Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer service skills Ability to handle acutely ill patients in stressful situations with a positive demeanor Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred) Our Hiring Process for 2024: Interested students should complete the job application by Tuesday, 3/26.
You must include an updated resume detailing relevant coursework, employment, and volunteer experience Select students will interview virtually with our hiring teams during the first few weeks of April We will inform students of selection decisions by mid-April Selected students will need to complete onboarding tasks (including medical clearance, employment verification, and submission of official transcript/school letter verifying enrollment) by 5/31/2024, to ensure they are cleared to start the program Required Training dates: 6/10/2023-6/12/2023 #LI-Onsite Pay Range: $18.
