Summary:
At East River Medical Imaging, our mission is to consistently provide the highest quality and availability of diagnostic imaging with compassion and comfort for our patients.
Each of our physicians is certified by the American Board of Radiology.
Together, they represent all areas of sub-specialty medical imaging, including cross-sectional, Musculoskeletal, Oncologic and Neuroradiology.
We are currently seeking a full-time Mammography Technologist to join our team.
The incumbent will operate radiologic equipment and performs mammography procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease by performing the following duties.
Duties Prepares and positions patient for mammography procedures.
Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors based on patient characteristics and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
Explains purpose and procedures for breast self-examination to patients and answers patients' questions.
Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.
Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
Perform Quality Assurance tests as required by the MQSA.
Assist with the MQSA inspection.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Qualifications: Minimum of 3 year’s experience.
Ability to perform diagnostic and screening Mammography as well as Stereotactic biopsies.
Prior experience on Hologic Dimensions preferred.
Must have NYS RT license and ARRT (M) certification.
DEXA experience preferred; training available.
Education/Experience: Associate's degree (A.
A.
) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office word processing software.
Certificates and Licenses: MRI specialty training certification (ARRT-MG), NYS RT License with Injection, active BLS training.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
