What You’ll Do
We’re looking for a Child Care Clinical Coordinator to work with the Therapeutic Childcare and Recreation programs at HELP Haven, a transitional housing shelter for victims of domestic violence.
This is a fabulous opportunity for a recent MSW graduate interested in working with children in a therapeutic setting.
You’ll be responsible for completing psychosocial assessments and providing mental health counseling and crisis intervention services to children and their families.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Collaborating with the Child Care and Recreation Teams to develop and implement therapeutic models in both programs.
• Collaborating with other departments at Haven to facilitate communication and provision of mental health services and to ensure positive outcomes for families.
• Serving as liaison to advocate for and assist families with negotiation of the service delivery system, ensuring receipt of appropriate clinical, developmental, academic, and other relevant services.
• Providing information and referral services to residents as needed.
• Developing and facilitating therapeutic groups and workshops for residents to better support their emotional well-being.
• Participating in weekly team meetings, individual supervision, group supervision, client case conferences, and other meetings as requested.
You’re a great fit for this role if you have:
• To be considered for this role, you must be currently registered as an LMSW or LMHC or have an MSW and become registered as an LMSW within 3 months.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed and trauma-responsive practice and an ability to translate knowledge about trauma-informed work into practice in a Child-Care and Recreation setting.
• Experience navigating specific systems impacting children such as Early Intervention, Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE), and Committee on Special Education (CSE).
• Physical ability to work with children in a variety of settings.
• Experience facilitating support groups and workshops.
• Willing to obtain SIFI certification (in order to supervise interns).
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a strong plus.
• Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
