Firm Risk Management
Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, strategic, and other risks.
Background on Position
This role will reside within Firm Risk Management's U.
S.
Bank's Enterprise Risk and Governance (ERG) Team and is responsible for managing Reputation, Strategic and Concentration Risks, managing the Bank's Risk Governance Framework, Board reporting and Regulatory Management processes.
The U.
S.
Banks provide an array of banking services and loans to individuals and institutions.
Primary Responsibilities
The role offers an opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across Firm Risk Management, Wealth Management and other stakeholders that support the U.
S.
Banks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support monthly and quarterly risk processes for the U.
S.
Banks
- Assist in overseeing and project managing strategic projects
- Support New Product Approvals
- Transform ideas, data, and content into visually compelling and impactful presentations
- Support ERM Review and Challenge activities
- Coordinate and deliver on ad-hoc requests
- Support the team in identifying and developing solutions for emerging risks and areas of focus
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- 3-7 years of enterprise risk management, governance and/or regulatory experience in the financial services industry
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, ideally in Finance or Economics
- Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop common sense solutions to complex business challenges
- Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to be adaptable and handle changing requirements
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to produce concise and effective presentations
- Ability to work in a small team environment, building and maintain a network of contacts and coordinating with a large number of stakeholders
- Experience in management by influence, facilitating and gaining consensus
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
