The Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic offers a safe, wholesome after school environment for kids age 5 through 18 to have fun and learn.
During summer months, a day camp is offered.
Our professional staff and team of dedicated volunteers deliver a comprehensive array of high quality educational, social, and recreational programs.
*ASSISTANT UNIT DIRECTOR* *Reports to: *Unit Director *\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_* *POSITION SUMMARY* The *Assistant Unit Director* is responsible for assisting the Unit Director in providing support, reporting, and delivery of program initiatives, program planning, compliance with Office of Licensing regulations, community relations, parent concerns, member supervision, facility management and assumes the responsibilities of the Unit Director position in her/his absence.
*PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS* * Oversee activities and services that prepare youth for success and create an outcome-driven Club experience that facilitates achievement of youth development outcomes.
* Assures that programs meet standards of Boys & Girls Clubs of Paterson and Passaic and are reflective of all core areas of the program.
* Receives requisitions and procures supplies necessary for program implementation.
* Monitors membership/registration processes and ensures their accuracy.
* Ensures numbers are entered correctly in the system and prepares weekly and monthly reports.
* Monitors staff attendance and assures employee time is entered correctly.
* Plans, coordinates and runs building special events.
* Relieves YDS team members for break periods as necessary.
* Manage Club discipline and guidance system including record keeping.
* General supervision of building and compliance with safety and emergency procedures.
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE* * The successful candidate will have at least a High School Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
* A minimum of two years’ work experience in a Boys and Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.
*ABILITIES* * Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.
* Demonstrate the ability to maintain a high energy level.
* Ability to perform multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet usage.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated capacity to be a team player.
* Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.
* Knowledge of community social services organizations.
* Ability to collect/interpret data and to prepare weekly reports as required.

The noise level in the work environment and at a school/Club setting may be moderate to loud.
