Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate worship services, including selecting and arranging music, leading the congregation in singing, and coordinating with other musicians and vocalists.
- Plan and organize rehearsals to ensure a cohesive and well-prepared worship team.
- Provide musical direction to the worship team, including coaching and mentoring musicians and vocalists.
- Collaborate with the pastor and other church leaders to plan and coordinate worship services that align with the overall vision and mission of the church.
- Create an atmosphere of worship that encourages congregational participation and engagement.
- Communicate regularly (email, text, huddles, team meetings) to foster cohesion of team members
- Stay current with trends in worship music and incorporate new songs and styles into the worship repertoire.
- Foster a spirit of unity among the worship team members and encourage their spiritual growth.
Requirements:
- Strong vocal ability.
- Proficiency in playing an instrument (e.
g.
, guitar, piano) a plus.
- Experience leading worship in a church or similar setting.
- Ability to educate and mentor musicians and vocalists, helping them grow in their musical abilities and spiritual journey.
- Strong leadership skills to effectively lead a worship team and coordinate with other church leaders.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, congregation, and other church staff.
- Knowledge of various styles of church music (gospel, traditional, contemporary) and ability to select songs that align with the message being preached.
- A heart for worshiping God and leading others into God's presence.
