Freedom Institute, is a renowned, nonprofit, OASAS licensed, outpatient program in midtown Manhattan, treating substance-abuse disorders through a unique combination of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Relational Family Therapy (RFT).
Freedom Institute is seeking to hire a full-time or part time, licensed, Psychologist.
The purpose of this director level position at Freedom Institute is to provide planning and oversight of growth of new programming.
This position will also assist with oversight and management of current programming in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Services as needed.
The director will interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, client centered, evidence-based, and high-quality program delivery.

*Duties and responsibilities* *CLINICAL CARE RESPONSIBILITIES* The psychologist will attend daily to the following responsibilities: *Direct Patient Care* Carry a clinical caseload of patients as needed.
Provide consultation, psychological assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, psychoeducation, clinical supervision, or other clinical interventions, in accordance with one’s clinical licensure.
*CLINICAL LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES* The psychologist will attend daily to the following responsibilities: *Patient Flow & Census* In collaboration with leadership staff, provide clinical consultation for Admissions and Business Development regarding leads and prospective admissions; provide needed consultation and/or feedback in a timely manner.
Attend weekly clinical meetings as determined by leadership.
*Safety* Monitor the safety and well-being of all patients and immediately respond to safety risks in accordance with Freedom Institute policies.
Serve as a point person for clinical emergencies as needed in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Services and Medical Director.
*Leadership of Clinical Care Team* Build a cohesive clinical team characterized by trusting and collaborative relationships.
Establish an environment where candid, open discussion is encouraged and where clear and inclusive decision-making processes flourish.
Convene huddles to address emergent issues regarding client care, client flow, and client census.
Convene regularly scheduled, interdisciplinary case conferences to develop an integrated understanding of the client (i.
e.
, individual, group, milieu, family) and to develop treatment plans that reflect the patient’s goals, preferences, needs, and sociocultural context.
Ongoing assessment and implementation of client centered clinical programing.
*Referrer Relations* Assess referrer preferences, needs for communication, and ensure timely communication.
Serve as ambassador for programming, including communication of program offerings to business development team members, referrers, and all the departments and teams of Freedom Institute.
Participate in marketing focused meetings with treatment providers and referral sources.
*Inter-Departmental Collaborations* Identify opportunities for new, revised, or enhanced services, and collaborate with all stakeholders in implementing changes to programming or workflow.
Work cross-functionally with clinicians and clinical leadership to ensure that high quality care is being provided consistently, and in accordance with quality standards of care.
Effectively communicate changes in programming with internal or external stakeholders.

*Qualifications* *Education* PhD or PsyD in Counseling/Clinical Psychology *Licensure* Licensed in the state of New York.
*Specialized knowledge* Integrative, flexible approach to treatment.
Extensive familiarity with psychodynamic formulations and assessment.
Ability to conceptualize patients from multiple perspectives (dyadic, group, family, systems) Experience working in outpatient psychiatric and substance disorder settings.
Foundational knowledge of OASAS regulations *Skills* Basic computer skills Google and Microsoft Office applications Experience with electronic medical records Salesforce *Abilities* Problem solving Excellent report writer Adaptability & Flexibility Organization Leadership Effective communication Proactive, anticipating future needs *Other characteristics such as personal characteristics* Warmth in personality Positive attitude Approachable *Experience* At least five to seven years’ experience of providing high quality substance use and psychological treatment.
Postdoctoral supervision experience and/or postdoctoral training in psychotherapy, group work, and/or family systems.
Prior team leadership experience.
Management experience preferred.
*Working conditions* Monday – Friday, 28-40 hours per week*.
*Some evening hours required.
Midtown location.
Position will be hybrid, at least 3 days per week in person at office in Midtown Manhattan.
