Adamas Building Services is looking for an exceptional Handyman (Full-Time) with experience working in luxury residential communities.
Our company is a leading expert in the Residential Services market with properties throughout New Jersey.
We have openings at our Jersey City locations in NJ.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm Saturday 9am -11am , Sunday 3pm-6pm Pay: $20.
00/hr.
Applicants should be a local or 15-30 minutes away from Jersey City.
The Handy Porter is responsible for the reception area at the property.
The Job includes the greeting of all guests, answering phone calls, assisting residents and guests with questions regarding building services and facilities, checking the guest into the computer system and announcing guest to resident’s units.
Answering phone calls and monitoring video screens may be part of the job depending on each specific property.
Signing in of packages and or deliveries may also be part of the job.
Must have exceptional communication skills and be savvy with using computers and technology to perform the requirements of the job.
Core Job Responsibilities: Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them Perform basic tasks including painting and filling crevices, cleaning facilities, and managing maintenance repairs.
Perform repairs on company machinery, equipment, or appliances when applicable.
Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.
Regularly check community spaces to identify issues with litter, mechanical failure, or breakdowns.
Respond to clients’ maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Light plumbing, electrical, and safety systems.
Maintain the cleanliness of outside spaces such as parking lots and sidewalks.
Identify, document and report maintenance and repair work.
Suggest additional repairs when identified and needed.
Train home staff to handle minor repairs/issues on their own (e.
g.
, change batteries in smoke detectors, plunge toilets, replace air filters).
Light patchwork, painting, and dry wall repairs.
Identify and ensure implementation of all repairs within the facility to include: Maintaining vendor/contractor relationships.
Understanding and identifying the need for vendor/contractor services.
General plumbing: repair/replace faucets, fix leaks, and toilets.
Electrical repairs and maintenance.
Respond to management request for maintenance services.
Monitor equipment and supply inventory.
Keep logs and report on procedures and daily activities.
Ensure health and safety inspections to prevent risks.
Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Awareness of “Chain of Command” process and support.
Requirements: Able to lift 50 pounds.
Able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
Must be reliable and professional.
Good Interpersonal and great verbal communication skills to interact with other teammates, residents, and property management.
Ideal candidates must be punctual and a team player.
