Chief Financial Officer Job Summary The Chief Financial Officer will direct and oversee the financial activities of the agency, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts predicting future growth.
The CFO oversees the accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
The CFO works with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.
The Center for Family Support (CFS) mission is to provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental and related disabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and tax returns.
Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for management team, and the rest of the agency.
Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives.
Develop, review, and implement policies and procedures for the department’s financial operations.
Ensures compliance with professional accounting standards, rules, regulations, and laws by directing, supervising, and facilitating the preparation and maintenance of required and appropriate financial records, monthly and annual financial reports, and all other financial reporting as may be required by federal, state, local agencies, or established accounting standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements Excellent management and supervisory skills.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional analytical skills, including the use of data driven methodology and financial strategy to best navigate complex, changing landscapes.
Significant technical expertise including substantial budget acumen and accounting/financial experience.
Exemplary leadership skills required to develop, coach, empower, motivate, and manage staff.
A strong and enduring commitment to continuous improvement through business process re-engineering, implementation of new technology, organizational change management, and adherence to best practices.
Education and Experience Requirements Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
Eight to ten years of experience in financial management required.
Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.
