We are seeking a Vice President for our Risk Management Commercial Lines Department in our Bryant Park, NYC office.
Job Purpose: Responsible for the day-to-day servicing, including responsibility for retention and growth of the book.
This book of business consists of four (4) accounts, two (2) of which are very active accounts requiring an in dept understanding of real estate, the ability to multi-task, delegate, and train junior staff.
Following are some of the Functions & Responsibilities, which are not all inclusive: Proactively address clients needs on a day-to-day basis with prompt responses to the client and manager, where applicable.
Conduct in-depth coverage reviews of existing policies and make recommendations as needed to broaden the client’s insurance program, and to prevent Errors and Omissions Where applicable run M&S reports Where applicable run PML Where applicable run Flood determinations and take the necessary steps to make sure the client is covered Negotiate the best possible coverage and rates according to underwriting guidelines.
Receive, review and forward invoices, policies, endorsements, premium allocations, and other documents as necessary to meet statutory requirements, if any, and to comply with servicing needs of our client’s.
Procure and bind insurance per the client’s instructions, timely.
Process Certificates of Insurance, Binders, and Placement Requests timely.
Review and audit policies for compliance with internal procedures and in accordance with binders specification Prepare proposals for clients and prospective clients Visit clients as necessary to ensure client satisfaction Conduct online meetings with clients if in person meetings are not possible Attend staff and Account Executive meetings Apply (basic) proficiency of loss analysis, SIRs, Retrospective Rating/loss sensitive plans on account activity as needed Assure proper disposition of items on expiration lists Prepare documentation to market accounts in accordance with HUB guidelines Participate in new business strategies meetings and presentation, where required Provide training to junior staff, where needed Collaborate with unit staff Market renewals and new business as well as collaborate with the marketing department Round out accounts as opportunities arise Market specialized coverages as needed Relevant experience in handling the insurance and risk management needs of clients in the real estate industry and familiarity with the servicing needs of clients in the real estate industry Contract reviews Experience and Skills Required: A minimum of 7-10 years related experience Valid P&C License Experience with servicing middle market and large accounts Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail Ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients and carriers Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline driven environment Strong presentation skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team Ability to travel as needed Ability to come to the office with a minimum of 2 days per week or as required by manager Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of EPIC (ideal).
Must be proficient in excel with the ability to do premium allocations The expected pay range for this position is $140,000 to $170,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and work location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
