1920's Vintage MORGAN 140 Machinist Bench Vise in Excellent Condition.
No cheap Chinese junk here; this was made in Chicago Illinois, USA to last a lifetime!
Weighs 55 POUNDS
4-inch-wide Jaws (which still have excellent cross-hatching on both faces)
Opens to 6"
This is the GOOD ONE made of CAST STEEL, NOT Cast Iron (which is brittle and prone to cracking).
You can use it as an anvil without fear of it breaking.
My grandfather was Shop Steward at the Curtiss Wright Aviation Assembly Machine Shop from the 1940's until it closed in the 1970's.
He used it during his entire career at the Plant and took it home when it shut down.
It's been on the same workbench for OVER 50 years! I'm only parting with it because I have a much larger 80-pound 6" Vise and don't need them both.
MY LOSS is YOUR GAIN; similar CAST STEEL bench vises like this cost OVER $600 at any industrial supply store.
