We have an exciting opportunity for a Handyman to join one of our New York properties.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Inspect all mechanical rooms and report results into log check
Respond to tenants requests for maintenance services, including replacing air filters, repairing locks and troubleshooting smoke detectors
General plumbing repairs such as toilets, faucets, and minor leaks
Test performance of in-unit appliances, such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves and ovens
Repair and replace general hardware such as doors, doorknobs, locks, and broken tiles
Cosmetic updates to apartments, entrances, and common areas such as painting, plaster, sanding, and wallpaper installation
Maintenance and upkeep of cooling towers and boilers, as well as assisting in repairs of heating and HVAC systems
Report daily to the Resident Manager and update on repairs thru email correspondence
Assist in snow removal on sidewalks and driveways
Qualifications, skills and abilities:
Union position, hourly rate based on 3 years experience working in a rental building
FACP certificate, a plus
Basic carpentry and electrical skills
Good communication and time management skills
Standpipe sprinkler certificates
Problem solver with attention to detail
Friendly, positive team player
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Ability to work well under pressure
